What is Ultrasound?

With ultrasound the medical doctors can get an image of the inside of our body. It is a non-invasive technique that use sound waves to visualize organs and structures in the body. The technology is well-known for monitoring the growth and development of the fetus during pregnancy.

At DTU Health Tech, we improve medical ultrasound. An example is the development of super resolution imaging to monitor blood flow in the capillaries, which are the smallest blood vessels in the body. This technology will have great impact on a number of vascular diseases such as cancer and diabetes.
