We’re proud to highlight the recent work led by Mostafa Amin Naji, who has advanced super-resolution ultrasound imaging into clinical evaluation of human lymph nodes using a contrast-free method known as SURE (Super resolution ultrasound imaging using erythrocytes).
Building on successful validation in simulations, phantoms, and in-vivo rat studies, Mostafa and the team demonstrated that SURE can visualize and quantify microvasculature, flow direction, and velocity in normal human lymph nodes—all from just 2 seconds of data acquisition, with no need for contrast agents or patient prep.
Compared to conventional Doppler imaging, SURE revealed vessels as small as 40 µm and flow velocities between 2–15 mm/s, showing excellent consistency over time. This work marks a significant step toward using fast, non-invasive SRUS imaging for clinical lymph node assessment.
Congratulations to Mostafa on this exciting milestone!
