We are pleased to announce that Sebastian Kazmarek Præsius will defend his PhD thesis titled “GPU Acceleration for Real-Time 3D Ultrasound Imaging” on Friday, 28 November 2025, from 13:00–16:00 in Building 341, Auditorium 22, and online via Zoom.
Supervised by Prof. Jørgen Arendt Jensen, Sebastian’s work focuses on implementing real-time 3D ultrasound imaging using GPU acceleration. This approach enables instant visualization of volumetric data, reducing operator strain, improving reproducibility, and paving the way for more accessible, cost-efficient ultrasound diagnostics.
The assessment committee includes Assoc. Prof. Hans Magnus Henrik Lundell (DTU Health Tech), Dr. Mathieu Pernot (Physics for Medicine Paris), and Jens Munk (3Shape), with Prof. Erik Vilain Thomsen (DTU Health Tech) serving as chair.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sebastian’s defense of his excellent work, which advances the future of real-time 3D ultrasound imaging.
