Project Description: 
T cells recognize peptides derived from degraded proteins presented on MHC class I and II surface proteins. The Ph.D. project focus on screening for immune recognition of degraded proteins in the context cancer disease with secondary activities within viral- and autoimmune- disease settings. 

Perspective:
Every cancer carry mutations unique to the given individual, however, some mutations and proteins are necessary for the cancer to thrive and divide. These mutations represent shared targets that the immune system of two independent patients could recognize, in theory, however, only few examples of such targets currently exists. We believe that we can, by using comprehensive screening for immune recognition, expand this group of shared targets, so that future clinicians can treat a patient with genetically engineer tumour-killing T cells, based on the mutational landscape of the individual; a personalized therapy, based on information gathered from previous patients, if you will.
