Project Description:
It is found that the tumorassociated antigens generated in situ after photodynamic therapy (PDT), photothermal therapy (PTT), chemotherapy, radiotherapy (RT), and starving-like therapy could show vaccinelike functions, which in combination with checkpoint blockade could induce strong antitumor immune responses for effective cancer immunotherapy. We try to develop a new type of nanoagent to prevent tumor growth by combining starving therapy/PDT/PTT with checkpointblockade immunotherapy. In my project, the immunoadjuvant can enhance retention responding to the acidic tumor microenvironment and further target cancer cells.
Perspective:
This biodegradable, multifunctional NPs enhance cellular internalization and tumor retention and efficiently target the tumor sites, thereby improving imaging and therapeutic effects. In combination with PDL1 checkpoint blockade will ablate primary tumors directly and suppress distant tumors via activating strong anticancer immune responses. With these efforts, this project will develop a multimodal nanoagent with synergistic treatments and imaging functions, addressing the profound challenges in cancer therapy and diagnostics.
