The Section for Optical Sensing and Imaging Systems (OASIS) applies light-based methods for characterization and manipulation of biological systems

Our research interests cover:
  • Micro- and nano-fluidics for manipulation and imaging of biologically relevant particles.
  • Integration of nano-photonics and micro/nano fluidics for new sensor and actuator technology
  • Microfluidics to model oral drug delivery, including the intestine, blood and liver, and droplet arrays for high throughput screening.
  • Thermodynamic modelling of nano-scale physics at room temperature.
  • Methods of  data analysis for experiments at the interface between micro- and nano-scale biophysics, life science, and nanotechnology.
